If I have all my files backed up then it doesn't really matter if I screw up the boot.

When I go to do a fresh install of Windows 10 I'm gonna clone & image my Windows boot drive again then I'm going to turn off my PC, unplug all but my SSD's & HDD's except the HDD that has the C: drive, and then I'll plug in the USB Ventoy and turn my computer on to start the clean install process. Only your Ventoy USB and the drive you're going to be re-installing Windows on should be connected to your PC. Sometimes you do everything right and something still goes wrong.Īlso you do not want all of your HDD's and SSD's plugged in when you're doing all this. So I know if I screw something up I'll have those files. What I've done is got a 4 TB HDD, I imaged AND cloned my current C:drive/windows boot drive to the HDD.

Though be ready to have to reinstall windows on that machine if something does go wrong. If you have a spare laptop you can try running the Ventoy USB on that and testing it out.

If you have secure boot enabled in your BIOS, you made the Ventoy USB w/ secure boot enabled in the Ventoy options, you installed your ISO's then you should be good to go.
